Dr. J. Allen Hynek
A brilliant astrophysicist, family man, and skeptic, Dr. J. Allen Hynek is recruited as the Chief Scientific Advisor to Project Blue Book, the Air Force’s top-secret program investigating UFOs. Hynek fathers the new science of UFOlogy, and forms his world-renowned ‘Close Encounters’ classification system, but as the cases and evidence mount, a dangerous cover-up reveals itself, and Hynek’s unshakeable commitment to science and fact will be put to the ultimate test.
Captain Michael Quinn
A decorated WWII pilot, Captain Michael Quinn is hand-selected by Generals Harding and Valentine to run Project Blue Book. Driven as much by impulse as instinct, Quinn carries dark secrets from his military past that he covers with a quick wit and charismatic charm. Though he clashes often with the Hynek, Quinn finds that his own sense of refined brawn and street smarts are a significant asset to Project Blue Book.
Although warm, caring, and protective of her family, Mimi Hynek yearns for excitement beyond the life of a suburban housewife. She struggles to balance being a good wife and mother with a budding sense of empowerment brought on by her new friend, Susie Miller. On top of all this, Mimi has barely scratched the surface of what her husband’s new job entails and the potential danger that comes with it.
General James Harding
An influential and calculating Air Force General, James Harding oversees Project Blue Book. His personal agenda using the program to control public perception of UFOs often puts him at odds with Hynek and Quinn. As tensions mount, he will soon realize he has greatly underestimated the unlikely pair.
General Hugh Valentine
A sage of a man with a long, decorated military career, USAF General Hugh Valentine works closely with General James Harding overseeing Project Blue Book. Though he has more misgivings than his overzealous partner, he nevertheless joins him in hiding the truth about UFOs from the public for reasons of national security.
A stylish newlywed with an alluring confidence, Susie is new in town and becomes fast friends with Dr. Hynek’s wife, Mimi, who is drawn to her independent spirit. But as the two bond we’ll soon learn that, like so many others, Susie has secrets of her own.
